GHG quota

We have entered into a partnership to market the GHG quota to our community – for electric lorries, private electric cars and fleets.

Terms and conditions with no catch

No automatic renewal, no multi-year contracts, no minimum or maximum number of vehicles. Payment is guaranteed.

Certified partner

We compared the market and chose Carbonify as the partner we believe to be the best. We carry out this comparison every year.

Made possible by the community!

We have only been able to secure these terms because eTrucker is backed by such a strong community – our YouTube viewers as well as our app users. As with our bilateral freight contracts, we bring together smaller haulage companies and individual drivers so that they can benefit from the same terms as large fleets. A big thank you to everyone who makes this possible.

Win-Win for everyone

You get a good price, and we receive a small commission, which we use to further develop the eTrucker app.

Have you already registered for 2026? If not, upload your vehicle registration document now. If so, we look forward to your next vehicles and the years ahead.

Basics of the GHG quota

What is the GHG quota?

The GHG quota (greenhouse gas reduction quota) is a legally regulated scheme that allows owners of electric vehicles to monetise their vehicle’s CO₂ savings. Oil companies are required to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions – and can meet this requirement, amongst other things, by purchasing GHG quotas from the electric mobility sector. As an electric vehicle owner, you benefit from this with an annual payment.

How often can I use the GHG quota?

Once per calendar year per vehicle. The quota must be reapplied for annually – with us, there is no automatic renewal and no multi-year contract.

Vehicles & Authorisation

Which vehicles are eligible?

ClassType
N3Heavy electric lorries (> 12 tonnes)
N2Medium-duty electric lorries (3.5–12 tonnes)
N1Light commercial vehicles (< 3.5 t)
M1Private car
M3Electric buses

Hybrids (plug-in or mild) are not eligible – the vehicle must be registered as a fully electric vehicle.

Can I register several vehicles at the same time?

Yes – and that’s actually one of the key benefits of our partnership. There’s no minimum or maximum number of vehicles. Whether you have a single vehicle or an entire fleet, you’ll get the same terms.

I have a mixed fleet (cars and lorries). Can I register all of them?

Yes. Each eligible vehicle is billed and paid for separately. The payment amounts differ between cars and lorries.

Terms & Conditions & Payout

Is the payout really guaranteed?

Yes. Once your vehicle registration document has been checked and accepted, payment is contractually guaranteed – regardless of any market fluctuations following the conclusion of the contract.

Are there any hidden costs or charges?

No. No registration fee, no processing fee, no subscription. We receive a small commission – but only if you actually get paid. Our interests and yours are one and the same.

Procedure & Process

How does registration work?

  1. 1. Go to the eTrucker partner page
  2. 2. Upload your vehicle registration document (front and back)
  3. 3. The data is checked and submitted to the Federal Environment Agency
  4. 4. Once certification has been successfully completed, the payment will be transferred to your account

The whole process is done online – you don’t need to print anything out or submit anything in person.

What do I need to submit?

As a rule, the vehicle registration document (Part I of the registration certificate) is sufficient. This document specifies the vehicle category, the type of drive system and the owner’s details.

How long does it take to process?

The processing time varies depending on the volume of applications, but is usually a few weeks to several months. Payment is made once certification has been successfully granted by the Federal Environment Agency.

Partnership & Trust

Why did you choose Carbonify?

We have actively compared the market and selected Carbonify as the partner we consider to be the best – based on payout amounts, reliability and the quality of their processes. We carry out this comparison every year. Should a better provider emerge, we will switch.

What does the eTrucker community have to do with this?

Our terms and conditions – in particular the lorry rate of €5,300 – are only possible thanks to the collective strength of our community. As with our bilateral freight contracts, we bring together smaller haulage firms and individual drivers so that they can gain the market power of large fleets.

Is there a contractual obligation?

No. No automatic renewal, no multi-year contracts. You decide each year whether to sell your GHG quota and through which provider.

Austria & Special Cases

I'm in Austria – can I still take part?

The same partnership applies to electric cars – simply sign up via our link. For electric lorries in Austria, it’s often more cost-effective to have the charges added to your electricity bill; in that case, please contact us directly and we’ll help you find the best solution.

I’ve already submitted my quota for 2026 elsewhere. What now?

No problem – we look forward to seeing your other vehicles or to next year. The scheme runs on an annual basis, so you can switch to us at any time from the next billing period onwards.
